Which Glitch?

Most if not all video game players out there are very familiar with the term “glitches” and all it entails. Those who know how to recognize them are able to use them to their advantage. Glitches are also present in the computer world.

Actually, a glitch is present in all types of technological devices which can be narrowed down to electronics, computers and video games. A glitch or a “bug” is defined as anything that causes a temporary or short-term intrusion to any of the mentioned applications.
 
Glitches in electronics have to do with a short electrical pulse that is shorter in duration than was intended. This is problematic because many electronics require the catalyst effect of a pulse that must not be shorter in duration than a specified time.

In computers, glitches can be a little more tricky and dangerous to the security of private information. Glitches present in computers can be attributed to a number of causes such as software that was not correctly written, an operator error, viruses and worst of all, hacking. It is especially glitches in computers that are harmful as they can cause data to be lost, poor transcriptions or be subject to theft.  

Video game glitches are probably the first thing people of think of when they hear the word. In games, glitches are the result of programming errors. Such errors may lead to an improper display of the graphics, problems with the sound or the freezing of the game. However, glitches can also be used to the player’s advantage to more easily progress through the game. So popular is the trend that the term “glitching” has been assigned to those who benefit from making the most of glitches.
