Video Game Glitches

A video game glitch is like a bug. It is an error in the system, which can either be a positive or negative to the computer. It happens in computers, electronics, circuit bending, and video games. The glitch in a video game is when something happens that was not originally suppose to happen. The game can freeze, you can have sound issues, and you can have all sorts of errors.

Glitching is when you go through a video game to find the glitches. The people who do this are known as glitchers.

One major video game glitch is called a kill screen. A kill screen ends the game for no reason. The game will either freeze, or go crazy so you can not proceed to play. Older games, like arcade games, suffer from glitches because their computer programming were not advanced enough to hold the amount of numbers if the score or codes would get too high. Sometimes the memory would be full, and a glitch would occur.

Some examples of games that get glitches are Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Dig Dug, Duck Hunt, and many others. In Pac- Man when you reach the 256th board, it makes the fruit appear 256 times, with seven blank spaces also. In Donkey Kong in the 22nd stage, the 117th screen the counter goes up to high and screen plays so slow. In Dig Dug there is al kill screen in the 256th round. If you play Duck Hunt all the way up to level 100, a glitch will end the game, and go back to zero.
