"Houston, we have a glitch." It just does not have the same impact; when you replace the word "problem" with "glitch," it does not make you feel the same urgency. History would not have made such a big deal about that line.
That is why when we hear about video game glitches, which is more common than other terms, we do not worry. Video game glitches are also known as software errors, bugs, or input errors. Some glitches are caused by hardware or just plain human error. The definition of glitch is a mishap, error, malfunction, etc. or a sudden, brief change in the rate of electrical pulse.
Video game glitches are errors in the program that were not found by the programmer, designer, or game testers. Some glitches are left in the program because they do not affect play. Video game glitches are very common since you have all those electrical pulses coming together at one time, if even one misses, there is a glitch. Think of it like your brain, a computer, or a football game. If just one signal gets crossed you will have a glitch.
When you hit a video game glitch, your game may seem to skip. Other ways to tell if you hit a glitch are mistakes in sound, graphics, and movement in the game. Some video game glitches may even freeze or crash your game. Gamers try to find the glitches in games, because some glitches can give you an advantage. Such as faster movement, or a way around a part of the game that seems to be impossible.
While "Houston, we have a glitch" will never go down in history, video game glitches will always be around. Just like in life, there will always be issues; we just have to learn to live with them. Unless you find a way to use them to your advantage, then it will be he who finds the glitch that will win.
