Glitches have been a part of the gaming world ever since video games have been around. Even with technology advancements in video game creation, there are still glitches in all kinds of games. Some are good, some are bad, and some are just plain cool. One of the first video game glitches on record was on the Atari game asteroid. In this you have to shoot down asteroids be for they hit your spaceship. The glitch in the game is that when your ship is in the bottom left hand corner of the screen you can't be hit by any asteroids making the game easy to beat. This is just one of many famous glitches.
Perhaps one of the most famous glitches is the original Super Mario Brothers for NES. This glitch has been named the minus world glitch. This glitch allows you to pass threw a brick wall close to the end of world 1-2. After passing threw the wall you go to world 1 otherwise known as "minus world." -1 is almost exactly the same as world 2-2 and world 7-2, the difference is when you enter the green pipe at the end you return to the beginning of the level. It is a cool glitch, but since there is no way to beat the level it's not exactly a great glitch. While some glitches work to player's advantage, as we see in asteroid, they can also work against the player as we see in the original Super Mario brother's for NES. Either way, glitches are a definite part of the video game world.
