A glitch is a "bug" or a "fault" in a system and these words were created by those in the computer and electronic industry and in the gaming community when talking about the problems they've encountered with their computer or when implementing a program and of course when playing a game. In the video gaming world, a glitch is a programming error or an unforeseen fault in the hardware which causes a freeze, poor graphics, system crashes, and data corruption.
The word glitch has been transformed into "glitching" by the gaming community and is the practice and exploitation of the programming errors found in a game, allowing a gamer to do things that was never intended by the creator of the game. Some believe using these glitches give an unfair advantage to one player over another. For example, when playing a multi-player game one player will have the ability to fall through the floor and be able to shoot players from below. Do the opponents call this unfair because they don't know how to use or can't see the glitch or do they really believe the game should be played as it was originally meant to be?
Glitching has become a gaming subculture of players who love the challenge of finding, using and tricking other players. There are blogs just for glitch enthusiasts and the blog provides the names of the games, the glitches, how to tutorials.
Glitches was never part of the creators plan and what is there if not the unknown challenges that you encounter in order to reach the next level and to finally reach the end a "winne.r. If you take those away by tricking your way through the game, it takes away the feeling of successfully beating each challenge and winning in the end.
